Welcome to Veterinary Surgical Center of Long Island (“VSCLI”). VSCLI was founded in 2024 by Dr. Margaret Puccio and Theresa Puccio, sisters who are native to Huntington, New York. The Puccio sisters are committed to VSCLI’s goal to be the premier small animal veterinary surgical referral and emergency hospital on the east coast. Our 10,000 square foot hospital was built in 2024 and is equipped with the very best state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment that is available to the medical community. Our practice is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for pets through advanced surgical interventions and compassionate care. We strive to make a positive difference in the lives of pets and their owners.

VSCLI is a full-service Emergency and Specialty Referral Hospital, staffed by a dedicated collaborative team of veterinary professionals who are committed to delivering superior care to our patients. Our brand new 10,000 square foot hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that is second to none. On a 24-hour basis, our staff has the following at its access in order to treat and diagnose its patients: A 128 slice CT Scanner, an MRI unit, two digital Radiology suites, cold laser therapy, ultrasound, a complete in-house laboratory, monitoring equipment that can continually monitor its patients, and more.
Our meticulously clean hospital will be open 24 hours, seven (7) days a week beginning in October 2024 to better serve our community. In addition to VSCLI’s cutting edge technology and the delivery of superior care, our experienced and knowledgeable staff is committed to superior customer service, understanding the importance of treating our clients respectfully.

What is a Veterinary Specialist?
A Veterinary Surgical Specialist is a veterinarian who is specialized in performing advanced surgeries. VSCLI’s surgeons are highly experienced and specialized in small animals, particularly dogs and cats. VSCLI’s surgeons are specialized in general surgery, orthopedic surgeries (focusing on the bones, ligaments, muscles, and tendons that make up the body’s skeletal system), and soft tissue surgery (focusing on the internal organs and non-bone tissues of the body).

- SurgiVet Veterinary Monitors to monitor ECG, Heart Rate, Oxygen Saturation, Blood Pressure, End Tidal CO2, Respiration and Temperature
