VSCLI is staffed with compassionate and caring veterinarians, surgeons, and support staff who understand how difficult it is to say goodbye to your beloved pet.  When the time comes for pet euthanasia or cremation in Huntington, NY, VSCLI is here to discuss options and assist in every way we can during this difficult time.

Euthanasia is commonly referred to as “putting down” or “putting to sleep” and is often an option selected by many pet owners for their pets who are at the last stage of life and may be suffering.  While it is extremely hard to say goodbye, euthanasia offers a peaceful, pain-free, and controlled option to end your pet’s suffering.

Please speak with our staff at our veterinary surgical center in Huntington about your pet’s quality of life and ask any questions to learn more about euthanasia and what to expect if you choose euthanasia.  While the decision is very difficult, the euthanasia process is designed to be as peaceful as possible.  Once you and your veterinarian have determined that euthanasia is the best option, your beloved pet will be administered a drug that results in a deep sedation.  You and your family will be together with your beloved pet in our private Comfort Room.  During the time that your pet falls into a deep sedation, you and your family remain with your pet.  The process is pain-free and takes only a few solemn minutes while you say your goodbyes.  You and your family can stay with beloved pet for as long as you need to bid your pet a final farewell.
