Veterinary Surgical Center of Long Island is an emergency and specialty referral hospital. For specialty surgeries and procedures, a referral is required by your primary care veterinarian. After your primary care veterinarian has referred you to our hospital, you may call to schedule an appointment with VSCLI’s surgeons for a consultation. During this initial appointment, the surgeon will obtain a thorough history, perform a complete physical examination, answer questions, and discuss diagnostic and treatment options. An estimate of charges will be also presented. Depending on the urgency and medical needs of your pet, the surgeon will decide if common diagnostic tests and blood work are needed immediately or if your pet should return at a later date for a procedure and treatment(s).
Regular Appointments with our specialty surgeons can be made Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We will ask that you complete basic paperwork to help us gather background medical information regarding your pet’s medical condition.
If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, contact VSCLI at (631) 517-1773. You can bring your pet to VSCLI on a daily basis from 8am to 8pm. Beginning mid-October 2024, VSCLI will accept patients to our Emergency Room 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For emergencies, NO referrals NOR is an appointment needed. We will keep your primary care veterinarian updated on all of the care that we provide to your pet.
